About us

Welcome! Undiscovered Montenegro Ltd is a British registered company that began running activity holidays at Lake Skadar in 2011. Due to popular demand, in 2013 we opened an on-line agency, www.lake-skadar.com, to provide 5-star day-trip experiences for those only visiting the lake for a shorter period. Since then we have become the best reviewed tour agency in the area!

Undiscovered Montenegro is the only tour operator covering Lake Skadar to follow sustainable tourism practices, encouraging only the kind of tourism that directly benefits the local environment and population, and employing local people.

Your custom makes a difference here! Every year a proportion of our profits goes towards helping to clean up the lake, maintaining hiking paths and encouraging local, family run businesses.

Your guides

One of the founders of Undiscovered Montenegro, Ben is a British Canoe Union registered Level 2 Kayak Coach and has been running kayaking, hiking, wine-tasting and car safari tours at Lake Skadar for five years. He speaks English, Serbian/Montenegrin, French and German.

The co-founder of Undiscovered Montenegro, Emma lives and breathes Lake Skadar, so much so her name is literally on the map! Together with Ben she has also run Undiscovered Montenegro's tours for 5 years and speaks English as well as Montenegrin/Serbian.

Vuk is a man of many talents - radio show host, voice-over artist and committed eco-phile, he is one of the very few locally qualified kayak guides in Montenegro. His passion for the outdoors also extends to his origins in the north of Montenegro, where he helps to run our tours in Durmitor National Park. Vuk speaks excellent English and of course Serbian/Montenegrin.

Bojana might well be said to have written the book on sustainable tourism in Montenegro! Whilst working for the CSTI (Centre for Sustainable Tourism) and various NGOs she helped to define Montenegro's reputation for organic gastronomy as well as having a hand in creating some of the national park's hiking trails. She speaks Serbian/Montenegrin and English.
